Privacy policy

The core promise

WuWay performs its entire calculation — timezone resolution, daylight-saving adjustment, true solar time correction, solar terms, the Four Pillars chart and the five-element distribution — locally in JavaScript inside your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server to be computed.

This is a deliberate architectural choice rather than a policy we could quietly change later. There is no endpoint that receives birth data, so there is nothing to leak, sell, subpoena or accidentally publish.

What we do not collect

• Your birth date, birth time or birth city.
• Your calculated element distribution, pillars or report content.
• Your name, unless you type it into an email to us.
• Any biometric, health, location or device-identifier data.

What is stored, and where

Your reading is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key wuway.result.v1 so that the result and report pages can display it. It stays on your device. You can erase it at any time:

• Use the “Delete this reading from this device” link on the result page.
• Clear site data in your browser settings.
• Use a private browsing window — nothing is retained when you close it.

The city dataset (data/cities.json) is a static file downloaded to your browser and searched locally. Your keystrokes in the city field are not sent anywhere.

Third parties

Payments. If you buy the Blueprint Report or an Element Match report, checkout is handled by PayPal. PayPal processes your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we receive only the confirmation that a payment succeeded, an order reference, and the email address you supplied at checkout. We never see your card number.

Newsletter. The weekly letter is opt-in and separate from your reading. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us with our email provider and nothing else. Every message includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Fonts. The two typefaces are served from this site itself, not from a third-party font service, so loading a page makes no request to Google or anyone else for them.

Hosting and traffic counts. The site is served as static files by Cloudflare, which also records anonymous, cookie-free page counts on our behalf — no cross-site tracking and no personal identifier. Because the pages are static, no birth data is ever transmitted: it never leaves your browser.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not hold your birth data, the usual data-subject requests have a simple answer: there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You already have full control — it is on your device.

For the two things we may hold — a purchase record (held by PayPal) and a newsletter email address (held by our email provider) — you can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy at any time by writing to the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. There are no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.

Children

WuWay is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Because no personal data is transmitted to us by the calculation itself, a minor using the free test does not create a record on our side; purchases require the ability to enter into a contract.
